Geriatric Medicine Research (GMR)
is a multi-faceted group with  a focus
on the issues of aging, frailty, and cognition.

For over a decade, we have implemented a patient-centred research model that is now accepted as the clinical model of the future for studying aging.

We know that  aging is a complex issue; tackling it must be done with along term, multi-dimensional approach that includes clinical trials, research projects, and provincial, national and international collaborations and exchanges.

Congratulations to Melissa Andrew who has successfully defended her PhD thesis "Social Vulnerability and Health in Older Adults"

Dr. Paige Moorhouse is heading a campaign to have Nova Scotia drivers with dementia tested to ensure they can safely operate a vehicle.

Driving and Dementia: At least 5,000 drivers in Nova Scotia have Alzheimer’s disease, and that number could be as high as 10,000 when people with other forms of dementia are included.
